Su Jok is Korean for Hand and Foot where this form of acupuncture therapy was born.
Su Jok acupuncture differs from classical acupuncture in that only the hands and feet are treated. It is a totally safe, simple and effective form of acupuncture and does not involve the removal of any clothes other than shoes and socks.
Acupuncture has been a recognised form of therapy for many thousands of years originating in the East. The body works as a complete unit or independent system and within this system are many micro-systems from which we can affect the whole. For example, the ear is representative of the whole body and is used independently for such treatment and this is known as Auricular Acupuncture. Likewise the face can be used or indeed the nose.
Each hand and each foot represents a complete image of the body in its own right. Su Jok acupuncture is a two dimensional system. The first dimension is a physical treatment system where points on the hands and or feet which correspond to the affected or diseased parts of the body are
stimulated with a probe, needle, rings or moxa which is using heat. Small magnets or stars with plasters can be placed on the skin for longer periods in order to stimulate or alter energy flow within the body.
The second dimension of treatment using the same instruments draws on the five element theory on which body acupuncture is also based to bring about a permanent physical and metaphysical change within the body; ie. a change within the flow of energies in order to bring about an increased level of health.
Su Jok Acupuncture can help relieve many physical disorders including -
This is a therapy which is safe and the client can learn quickly to treat themselves. (If needles are used they are very small, more like sharp pins.)
